Guru Rinpoche Empowerment, Teaching and Practice.
Orgyan Kalden Drendze Empowerment:
Initiation into the Activity Ritual of Guru Rinpoche, Guide to the Fortunate.

This is the first time this empowerment is being given in the UK. The Nuden Dorje Guru Rinpoche Empowerment is a special terma of Guru Rinpoche Guru Yoga. The practice of Guru Yoga brings forth the blessings of the Guru for the successful completion of the Vajrayana Path. The empowerment and practice was revealed by the great Drikung treasure revealer Lho Jedrung Orgyen Nuden Dorje. It is said that this practice is effective in times of disease, sickness, famine, poverty and war when the teachings of the Dharma would be in danger of destruction. In this practice one is empowered by the Guru Rinpoche manifestations of the ten directions and then engages in the healing, increasing and wrathful activities of the Guru Rinpoche. This practice helps alleviate temporal obstacles to spiritual practice and creates the conditions whereby ultimate realization can be obtained.

Autobiography
Ontul Rinpoche is a highly regarded lama who has trained in Buddhist philosophy and Tantric Rituals of the Kagyu and Nyngma Schools. The core teachings of these schools, Mahamudra and Dzogchen, are direct approaches and very accessible to western culture. He was born in Eastern Tibet in 1950 into a family that traces back to the (pre-buddhist) times of Bon Religious Leaders. In 1954 he was recognised as the incarnation of Ontul by the 16th Karmapa, the reincarnated leader of the Karma Kagyu lineage and Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, the reincarnated leader of the Drikung Kagyu lineage. In 1959 he escaped to India and continued the training of a young monk before moving to Ladakh, where his training continued and where he later established a monastery at Tso Pema. He travels with his wife. The translator, Samten has spent 4 years in Germany and UK. He is a very good communicator in English as well as having a strong background in Buddhist teachings.
